Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a widely popular grape all over the world. In fact, it is the 10th most planted grape worldwide.

The grape hails from Burgundy, France and delivers strawberry, raspberry and cherry notes.

Pinot Noir is adored for its innate ability to be lighter than other red wines which allows for a low tannin level.

Winemakers use a method called “whole cluster fermentation” when producing Pinot Noir. This method is primarily only used for Pinot wines. It involves crushing and fermenting the whole grape bunch, including the stem. The stem raises the tannin levels and allows high-quality Pinot Noir to be produced.

Due to the ability to produce a lighter wine, Pinot Noir has gained popularity in recent years for those wanting a wine with a lower alcohol content than most red wines. Typically, Pinot Noir wines have an ABV of 12%.
