Hailing from Peru and Chile, Pisco is made by distilling wine. A few years ago, Harmans Estate caused some controversy when they released Australia's first ever Pisco liqueur.
Shortly after the release, the Peruvian government sent a cease and desist letter to Harmans Estate claiming they were not allowed to use the term ‘Pisco’. Similarly to how France protects the use of ‘Champagne’, the term ‘Pisco’ is only to be used with spirits that are made in the Pisco region.
Pisco Ginger is made using Pisco Black with ginger and ginseng added. This is a nice drink to enjoy with a slice of lime and crushed ice. It’s a very easy drink to consume because of its low ABV of only 20%.
