James E Pepper bourbon is a story of perseverance and survival. In the 1950’s the Pepper family distillery would be forced to close as the bourbon industry was experiencing difficult times in Kentucky.
The distillery was abandoned for more than 50 years until 2008 when whiskey lover Amir Peay would relaunch the brand. A huge construction of the abandoned distillery would restore the Pepper Distillery to its former glory and James E Pepper Rye was reborn. 1776 Rye is a full-flavoured whiskey that keeps to its original recipe.
You can taste strong mint flavours and also honey, chocolate and eucalyptus. James E Pepper has continued to impress whiskey lovers since its relaunch and has since collected a double gold medal at the 2016 New York Wine and Spirits Competition.
