The Michel Couvreur Overaged is the flagship spirit in their illustrious range of whiskies. The whiskey is aged in Pedro Ximenez casks located 150 metres underground in the Bouze-les-Beaune cellars, Burgundy.
Pedro Ximenez casks, originally from Spain, are used in making sweet dessert wines which allows for strong sherry flavours to be tasted in their whiskey.
What makes Michel Couvreur whisky so impressive is their production methods. An impressive 90% of the whisky comes from the cask, and only 10% from the distillation process. This allows for a strong, fortified sherry taste to emerge from the casks.
