In 1938, Alejandro Hernandez would create Pampero. Hernandez would develop a unique distillation process that would become popular in Venezuela.
His method was innovative for the time - he would harvest sugar cane during the most humid part of the dry season. This allowed for an exceptionally smooth cut of alcohol to be made.
Pampero Anejo Especial rum uses fermented molasses in the distillation process and ages the rum in white oak whisky and bourbon barrels.
In 2013, Anejo Especial was awarded a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
