Caol Ila 15 Year Old is a unique single malt expression, with great richness and depth. It has an elegant and clear maritime character with a fresh and light impression. It is great balance of citrus and chewy cereal, coupled with some delicious dry fruits and sugary sweetness, with a subtle cleansing hint on the palate.
Tasting notes:
Colour: Pale Straw.
Aroma: A malty & fruity nose with subtle citrus notes & ever so slight vanilla oak.
Palate: Toffee apple sweetness opens the palate with a subtle citrus note.
Finish: Subtle spice sweetness with vanilla easing into a long clean finish.
Alcohol Percentage: 61.5%.
About Caol Ila:
In 1846, Glasgow distillery owner Hector Henderson picked a little bay on the Sound of Islay for his distillery site. He named it for the sound itself, using the Gaelic Caol Ila, and it was across this sound the little puffer ships made their round trips to the mainland – slowly helping to establish the distillery as the biggest on Islay. They are known for their refined and premium whiskeys, and have won international acclaim over the years.
