Glenfarclas’ 50-year-old Single Malt Whiskey (50% abv) is a very special release which celebrates Chairman John Grant’s five-decade long career in the whisky industry, himself a fifth-generation owner of the Speyside distillery.
During his tenure, Grant has been a passionate advocate for independence, and recently the Scottish distiller won the Distiller of the Year at the 2023 Icons of Whisky Awards.
Drawing from an extensive stock holding, the 50-year-old Single Malt reflects the work of former distillery manger Douglas MacDonald who laid down the liquid half a century ago.
Glenfarclas’ note hints of the then used Speyside peated malt smoke on the nose along with almond and cedar before opening to stewed apple, dark chocolate, and toffee in the dram.
