The Kilchoman Madeira Cask is a Scotch whisky matured in Madeira casks, for a full maturation period of 3-5 years, giving it some bold flavors. It was released in late 2015, and the result was a rich, nutty influence from the Madeira combined beautifully with the peaty spirit to give a punchy, almost dessert-styled Islay dram.
About Kilchoman:
Kilchoman (Pronounced as Kilhoman) was established in 2005 and is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. It was the first distillery to be built on the Island for 125 years and is based on a farm on the rugged west coast of Islay. They are known for their deep-tasting flavors, from maturation in both Bourbon and Sherry casks which have won them acclaim internationally.
