Whisky Overview:
The Kilchoman Sauternes Cask is a fine-tasting single malt expression which is left to age in ex-Sauterne casks for 5 years. They use Quarter casks, roughly a quarter the size of a 500 litre butt, which enables increased whisky-to-wood contact. The result is a whisky infused with hints of caramel, vanilla, buttery fruit notes and peat smoke, in keeping with the Kilchoman spirit.
About Kilchoman:

It was the first distillery to be built on the Island for 125 years and is based on a farm on the rugged west coast of Islay.
